First Light

Where is the line between good and God? Do good deeds help us feel more Godly but  not actually contribute to spiritual growth? Do easier, maybe more enjoyable good deeds, have a tendency to become our substitue for those Godly actions that lead to real improvement in our covenant to be like Jesus. If the road to hell is lined with good intentions could the walk with Christ and our lack of success therein be litterd with some of those same good intentions? Are good deeds necessarily in total obedience if what God desired for you to do was be involved in Bible study, worship, being a leader among other believers, or reaching out in His name and not just in your name? We can be lured into using good deeds as a panacea to make us feel better about our lack of being who God wants us to be.
