We're still here. Wish it wasn't true, but it is. That means we still have things He wants done. Mary O'Fallin is already home from her eye surgery and all went well. Dusty Bolin is in East Houston Regional with a few problems. She is in room 2930 if you can swing by. I will head over there with a strawberry malt that she requested in about an hour - whenever DQ opens. Jake Brewer will have shoulder surgery on Wednesday. Please pray for these folks today. Speaking of Wednesday we will have chicken fried steak, mashed potatoes, cream gravy, green beans and salad for our mid-week family meal.
Tomorrow night is Gospel Night at Premier's Restaurant, 6-8pm. Please join us. If you want to ride the church van please contact the church office today or tomorrow morning.
It is not an accident that the first impulse of those first Christians who responded to Peter's sermon on the Day of Pentecost was to share what they had with those in need. At the very least, our Christian faith focuses for us the right questions. How shall we live in relationship to our possessions? How shall we live in relationship to others, especially the most needy among us? And how can we find the common good? There is only one voice out there that can cause us to do a 180. The Good Shepherd calls us to abundant life. Others come to steal or kill or destroy. Abundant life means the fullness of Christ is in your heart and it is enough. May God help us all to hear that voice.
See you later,love, ken.
