Good Morning,
Nice cool breeze blowing down the Fannin corridor this morning. The pigeons are still gone. I saw two over on Main but Fannin seems to be off limits. Maybe there is a pigeon curfew in effect. Did see a squirrel eating a french fry though. I wonder if they bury those also? They bury everything else. "Look, Fuzzy Tail, I promise you I buried that thing right here six months ago and now it is gone. I can still smell the grease. You're the only one that saw me bury it here so you had to have taken it." Talking squirrels, yeah right. Well there are flying squirrels. So if squirrels can fly and we can't... I guess that makes us nuts. If some of them can fly I would think surely some of them can talk. If you will crawl up a tree and act like a nut they will come right up to you and then maybe you will hear them talk. That would be a neat thing to do at lunch today. Let me know how that goes. Have a nutty buddy Tuesday, goobers and gooberettes.
We need your help. We need you to bring cooked vegetables, desserts and breads for the Walter's family tomorrow following the funeral. The meal is planned for noon. If you can bring your items to the church fellowship hall between 8:30 and 9:45am that will be great. Please remember the viewing for Mrs. Walters is tonight, 5-8pm and the funeral is tomorrow at 10:00am. For further details please contact Joyce Smith.
Tonight at 7pm the Grayson Center Gospel Night will be happening. Come and join us! Supper and music all free, what a deal. Really cheap date night.
There are a number of little books on the desk here at Methodist that are entitled "Understanding..." Understanding various diseases. The one closest to me is "Understanding Leukemia." It gives details of the disease and some of the treatments. But even with that, I don't really understand it very well, but I do know it was what killed my uncle in 1971. We have a tendency to not understand many things but we do know their effects on our lives and that becomes our point of recognition with those particular things. In other words, as soon as you mention leukemia, I think of my uncle, not the description or workings or treatment of the disease. It needs to be our goal at our work place, within our family and in our communities that we have that same effect on people's word association. When God, or church or Christian or Jesus is mentioned, even though those around may not understand any of those concepts their thought pattern goes to our name or face because we have become the symbol of those good things where we are. Could that happen where you are everyday? You are what you are until you change.
See you this afternoon and tonight, love, Ken.
