Good Afternoon,
Just got sprinkled on in Sealy. I rolled down my window so I could smell it. Rain on a hot day in the country, potatoes and onions frying on the lake bank, little babies right after their baths, new mown hay, fresh-cut ice cold watermelon - all great smells. I met a lady in Columbus this morning that remembers my grandmother who passed over 25 years ago. It's been a good day. Thinking of my grandma makes me remember all those great smells. Her house always smelled good and she didn't have air conditioning just window fans. So when she wasn't cooking you smelled whatever was going on outside. In the spring after the smell of fried bacon died down, the you could smell the fresh dirt form the garden that grandpa was plowing up. Then in the summer it was the fresh cut hay along with the lunch time pot of soup. Then that late afternoon shower that steamed off the hard dirt driveway made a great mix with the roast and potatoes in the oven. Have a great Wednesday.
Tonight at 6pm we will have parmesan chicken, alfredo noodles, green bean casserole, baked squash, corn, and more then Romans and Paul and prayer and praise. Come on and join us. Please.
Ruth Walters was doing fairly well in Columbus this morning but a little weaker than yesterday seemed to me. Tootsie and some of the other family members were there. The doctor's prognosis is not good, but we will wait on God. Patty Walger is home but still in pain and not quite ready for visitors yet. Fran Miller is in St.Luke's. Mr. Sasser is having triple by-pass right now at Bayshore Hospital. Betty Moore is having neck, back and leg pains. Cheryl Gaylord fell yesterday and now has a bruised leg to go along with the back situation. Mary O'Fallin's eye surgery will be next Monday at sunup. Please pray for these folks.
Tomorrow Seventh Day Slumber will be here at 6pm. Please don't let your kids, grandkids, neighbor's kids, or anybody miss this that likes their music with an edge and a little loud. I assure you they will hear about Jesus. In the safety of the church grounds and sanctuary with plenty of adults on hand.
Friday night the volume level goes down a little but the message remains the same - Jesus. With the Marsha Fisher CD Release Conceet with Marsha, Dennis Rehders, Crossing Jordan and Southern Plainsmen. That starts at 7pm right here at the church.
How did no complaint Tuesday go? How is your no attaboy Wednesday going. Doing the good stuff because you're a Christian and not looking for kudos? Good. No Compliant Tuesday and No Attaboy Wednesday. Mark your mental calendar every week. Oh you got confused and you've made Tuesday and Wednesday no complaints day. That's been really terrible hasn't it? Not really, you say? Hmmmm...
See you later.
