Good Morning,
The prediction of the world coming to an end may be more correct then we thought - the Astros swept a three game series with the Cubs. Speaking of baseball, when Gov. Christie sings Take Me Out To The Ball Game, he means in a  state owned helicopter. But it's okay the pilot needed some flying time. Yes, WE must tighten our belts. There is hope, he left in the fifth inning, so as to not keep the pilot and chopper waiting any longer. Yes, with pilot, the cost for that helicopter is $2,500 per hour. I'm glad he didn't desire to watch his son run a marathon. Yes, Bob, he is a Republican. No matter what party, Gov. Christie may be related to a donkey or mule in some way. For sure he is a member of the fastest growing political party that is a combination of Democrats and Republicans. They use letters only for their name. I.D.I.O.T.S. On to more positive news. I attended a funeral last Friday and heard the best funeral message by a pastor ever. He started out by giving us folks sitting way in the back a hard time. I liked him from that point on, but he had a line in his sermon that brought the house down. He said we need "drive by grandmas." Ladies that roll through neighborhoods and give every kid a whippin' that needs one. Drive By Grandmas. That still puts a smile on my face. I hope it did yours, too. Have a great Thursday.
It's the first Thursday of the month. That means it is Spirit Night at Chick Fil A, 5-8pm. You say you wish it were like the old days when businesses were ran properly and ethically and were part of the community? Chick Fil A is that and more. Never on Sunday is one of their mottos. Support them tonight and in turn you will be supporting the Faith Riders Motorcycle Ministry. Please let your order taker know you are there for Spirit Night and they will give you your receipt and ask you to place it in a basket to the right of the check-out counter.
Men, Saturday morning is your time. Breakfast and Bible study, 8-9am. Free and a good opportunity to bring a neighbor, friend, relative, grandson.
Thurmond Gaylord and Chave Cardenas are in surgery now over at St. Lukes. They both looked pretty in their hospital gowns. Please lift these two up in your prayer time today.
God opens the door every day and says you are free. Yet we sit in our cell of ongoing sin not claiming our freedom. Deflated, defeated, tired and confused. All attributes that are not part of the Christ picture.
   See you tonight, love, ken

  1. Good Afternoon,
We have good news and good news. Chave Cardenas' cancer surgery was successful and the cancer was in a a contained area and totally removed. A day or two in the hospital and she will be headed home. Thurman Gaylord's arteriogram in his left leg discovered 99% blockage in the main artery heading to the area below the knee. The doctor was able to solve that problem and he should be home by dark tonight.
Ruby Jones, Fran Miller's sister was still in ICU but was able to talk with me some and was awaiting dialysis. Jerry Cutaia, Curtis Clack's Brother-in-law was doing better somewhat as they were able to remove the breathing tube very early this morning. He is in ICU, too.
Just keep praying. It works. k
